Can I Become Addicted to Tarot?

Question: Can I become addicted to Tarot?

Answer: That truly depends on the person, but I have personally had clients who were dependent on the tarot and refused to live a minute of their life without knowing what was going to happen next.

The truth is, tarot is a tool. It is a means to help you find guidance for your life when you feel that you have lost your direction and as is life, what the tarot cards reveal is not set it stone — it can only show you possible paths to choose and possible paths to follow. It is up to us to decide which path it will be.

If you are not careful with the tarot and decide to abuse it, you may become dependent on it. That is where your reader (if you use one) needs to take some responsibility and gently let you know that you are beginning to abuse the tarot and it will quickly dictate every facet of your life and that can only lead to unhappiness in the long run.

How often you get a tarot reading will vary depending on your personal needs and experiences, but a warning sign that you are becoming dependent is when you cannot go a day without needing another reading, or when you find yourself desperate for more readings throughout the day.

The best thing to do if you find yourself becoming addicted to the tarot is to ask your personal spirit for strength and guidance and go cold turkey without a reading. If you feel you will not be able to accomplish cold turkey on your own, get a friend or mentor to help you.
